FEMA Begins Its National “Capstone” 2014 Drills

FEMA is conducting what they call, a “Capstone” national exercise, or ‘drill’,  that began on Thursday, March 27, 2014 and will be ongoing. It’s designed to prepare and educate in preparation for catastrophic  events ..

A “Capstone” is one of the Final elements of a stone or masonry structure …or could it be in reference to the final placement on the top of a pyramid?  Just recently, we witnessed world leaders wearing the symbol of the pyramid during the Nuclear Security Summit, which was held on March 24th and 25th in the Netherlands. That gives us something to think about.

FEMA has all types of activities planned. The participants will be focusing in on the Alaska Shield. This commemorates with the anniversary of the 1964 9.2 magnitude Great Alaskan Earthquake and includes an exercise that tests response and mass casualty care.

FEMA will also be performing a nuclear weapons accident exercise drill that will test response and  recovery  following an accident during secure transport  convoy of nuclear weapons..
