A Man Falls Down TWICE and Cries for Help. Watch to see the Shocking Difference….
Watch the short video to see how people have become so de-sensitized to others, even to those in obvious distress. Then, ask yourself ….would YOU have helped the first guy in the video?
It is often said that we are becoming a more selfish and self centered society.
In France, a recent social experiment put this to the test. They filmed two identical scenarios where a guy falls down in a crowded street, in broad daylight, in pain and in obvious distress. He lies on the ground crying out for help.
In the first case, the guy is dressed shabbily and obviously gives people the impression that he is nothing more than some drunken, homeless bum.
The second video features the same guy, but this time dressed in a sharp suit and looking professional.
Shockingly the outcomes were entirely different and demonstrated how quickly we judge others purely on appearance.
Just think, you could be having an off day to where you get out of bed, throw on whatever’s close to the door, quickly leave your house and run to the local coffee shop only to have a health problem along the way and pass out. However, you forgot to take the time to get ready properly and/or dress up and instead, you threw on whatever was lying around. Having passed out in the “not-so-desirable” clothing, other people could judge you and think you are a just some drunk, homeless bum, too?
It’s pretty frightening how most of us still judge a book by it’s cover. Regardless of someone’s appearance, when people are injured or in duress, we should not ignore them and instead offer our assistance.
It wouldn’t hurt to simply stop and ask the individual in need if they are ok; even if we have to get the attention of others before approaching that person, at least we can say that we did something.
This video can really make people think and possibly save a life.
Please share this – we need to be aware of our prejudices. If we want a better world, we need to become rid ourselves of judgement and learn how we can better help one another.
Would YOU have helped the first guy ….? Comment below, thanks.
